Understanding this Report
Grolier Online reports usage statistics under two parameters.  
- Views represents the number of individual Grolier Online web pages that have been viewed. Views are grouped by encyclopedia database. There is also a listing for Grolier Online among the other databases. Please note that this is where views for features such as Today Is, For Educators, and Feature Showcase are listed, as these features are included with any subscription to Grolier Online. Please note too that search statistics are also listed separately (as of June 2005) and are no longer included in the total Views for each encyclopedia database.
- Sessions is an estimated calculation of the number of individual users accessing Grolier Online. Sessions are logged the first time that a user accesses either the Grolier Online Passport, or the Grolier Online Kids, homepages. Thereafter a new session is logged either when a logout occurs, the browser window is closed, or when the browser has been inactive for a period of five minutes or more.

Note: Grolier Online statistics reporting process was upgraded to be Counter Compliant, when Grolier Online version 2.0 was launched in June 2005. Reports that include time periods prior to this date will continue to reflect session statistics broken out by encyclopedia database, since this date however, all session statistics will be reported under Grolier Online only.
