The following is the Ordinance text as adopted:
SECTION 1. That all easterly and westerly running streets be and hereby are changed to, and denominated “Avenues” and all northerly and southerly running streets, be and hereby are changed to, and denominated “Streets”. The denomination of a “Boulevard”, “Drive”, “Court”, “Road” or “Place”, is herein, and shall hereafter be, used as the Common Council may determine.
SECTION 2. (A) The base lines heretofore established by the Common Council on December 5, 1955 for the purposes of house numbering are hereby established as the base lines for East, West, North and South designations for all streets, avenues and public ways extending on both sides of the base lines. Said base lines are as follows:
(1) North and South base line. From western extremity of Witzel Avenue to center of Fox River and along same to mouth of Fox River.
(2) East and West base line. From the northerly extremity of North Main Street to the southerly extremity of South Main Street.
(B) The designations North, South, East or West shall be applied respectively to all streets, avenues and public ways which extend on both sides of the baselines.
